I tend to find a lot of comfort in sharing an unfiltered view into my career as I get older. However, there was a time in my 20s when I would heavily filter my career path. I’d share the wins, the exciting projects, the promotions, the above-forecast outcomes. Just like one would on Instagram, I used to only display the highlight reel of my career path.

We all know careers are anything but smooth and linear. We experience major pivots, layoffs and the survivor’s guilt afterwards, inexperienced managers, office politics, frustrations about being passed up for a promotion, feeling under-paid/over-worked/over-it…
